Full of Magickal Power from Outer Space…
More Rare than Diamonds & a Better Investment Than Gold !!!
Moldavite is a vitreous substance formed by a meteorite impact in Nördlinger Ries, southern Germany. It is translucent, with a mossy green color, with swirls and bubbles accentuating its mossy appearance. Therefore it is a unique green tektite. Its Mohs hardness is 5.5. The total amount of moldavite scattered around the world is estimated to be only 275 tons.
Put simply, there is no other gemstone like Moldavite. It is a truly scarce substance with a very limited supply. It is a rare gem of cosmic origin which was created in a celestial event some 12-15 million years ago. The meteorite that created this mystical stone struck our beloved Earth with the force of many thousands of atom bombs!
THE MOLDAVITE HOLY GRAIL CONNECTION
It is speculated by some that the Grail was not a cup but a ’emerald’ green stone that fell to earth from the sky. It is hypothesized that Moldavite was “the stone” as the ancients called all green stones emerald and Moldavite is the only green stone to have fallen from the sky. Most believe that the grail cup was carved from emerald or an emerald coloured stone. Another expression of this theme is that the Grail was fashioned from an emerald that fell from Lucifer’s forehead when he was hurled down to earth.
The Grail is a holy relic, because it was the cup utilized by Jesus and his disciples at the last supper. Additionally, as legend has it, it was held to catch the blood of Christ as he died on the cross. In legends from the court of King Arthur the Grail was passed from knight to knight and provided food or drink that the knight or companion most desired. It is said that the Grail cup bought about healing and rejuvenation including the healing of The Fisher King and King Arthur himself. The pictured large moldavite amphora has been believed to be the “Holy Grail” or “San Graal” (Holy Blood) for centuries. Many who have accepted the communion mass from it, have claimed healing and enlightenment.
There are 2 amphoras held in separate basilicas, one French the other Italian, said to have mystical properties. The Sacro Catino or in English “The Sacred Basin” was an Islamic artifact that tradition says is the dish used by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper. It was brought to Genoa after the First Crusade by William Embriaco. Only this one, pictured here, appears to made of moldavite and fits all the descriptions from legend.
As with the Grail, moldavite is considered to be very important for this particular phase of human evolution.
RARER THAN DIAMONDS
You can draw a comparison between Moldavite to Tanzanite. It is another incredibly rare and valuable gemstone which has suddenly shot up to rival the price of diamonds. Tanzanite’s price rise over the last few yeas has been meteoric (pardon the pun).
Diamonds, actually aren’t that rare. Diamonds distribution is tightly controlled and only a select amount of the gem is allowed onto the market each year. This assures an inflated price despite vast reserves. Each year roughly 30 tons of Diamonds are mined (133 million carats = 29.3 tons). Conversely, the available Moldavite supply is quickly disappearing. Like alexandrite, once all the natural sources have been mined, prices skyrocket. Taking the rough figure of 300 tons of Moldavite in total, that would mean that as many Diamonds are mined every decade as there is Moldavite in total!
Consequently, the price of this transformational stone has been increasing rapidly since we started working with sacred jewellery 25 years ago. Moldavite has increased in value more than 24 kt Gold in the last 15 years. In the late 90’s moldavite sold for around $2.50 a gram retail. These same stones today quickly sell at $15 a gram! Easily, the price of Moldavite has increased by approximately 500% in the last 15 years. That’s a value increase of 33% per year compared to 26% for 24 kt Gold! Gold prices have also leveled out dramatically, however, Moldavite is set to increase in value year by year as the limited supply of stones disappears from the market. (Interesting tidbit: Moldavite prices historically increase in bursts, so the price will be relatively steady for a couple of years and then jump suddenly as suppliers uniformly raise their prices in response to higher acquisition costs.) Here at Spiritual Treasures, we buy at wholesale prices so that we can offer you a discount from top market prices so that your piece has real re-sale value.
SPOTTING FAKE MOLDAVITE
Unfortunately because of its popularity there are many fakes coming out of India. When you see many pieces displayed that are identical or similar size and shape then they have been manufactured. Real moldavite has fine pitted surface pores or lines – fake pieces tend to be large with large riverletted wrinkles. They have no energy resonance as they are essentially just green glass bottles melted down in pits under roadside fires. Be ware. Protect yourself by dealing with reputable dealers only!
Since Moldavite was officially introduced to the scientific public by professor Josef Mayer of Prague University in 1786, it has ever been growing in popularity. The growth in demand was slow for the first 200 years and was limited mainly to the scientific and mineral communities, but sometime in the 1980s this obscure green “magical” Tektite from what was then Czechoslovakia began showing up on the metaphysical and spiritual scenes. Still relatively unknown until the 1990s, Moldavite has since skyrocketed in popularity… and in price. And its reach has outgrown the New Age scene and matured into a vibrant gemstone in high demand worldwide. Mineral collectors, gemstone enthusiasts, rock hounds, space lovers, jewelry makers, meditators, people interested in spiritual growth and transformation, energy workers, energetic healers and those in need of healing themselves have all begun to value and seek out this exceptional cosmic gem.
Even those not usually sensitive to the energies of stones, often feel the energy of Moldavite because it’s undeniably powerful. Wearing, or simply holding, a piece of Moldavite can produce many interesting and instantaneous reactions and experiences including that of heat flashes, emanating heat in general, energy jolts, and vibrations throughout the day can be felt by the wearer and others around. It’s not a power to play with though, as since it’s vibration is so high, one not used to such exposure can find themselves feeling quite drained, as your vibrational energy quickens to catch up to match it. There are many benefits of this stone, and exposure to it, including, activating the dream state when worn while sleeping, helping one to acclimatize to the Earth plane environment if feeling not part of this world (especially in the case of Star Children), aids in contact with interdimensional energies, and the list goes on… It is considered the only known gemstone of “extraterrestrial” origin (not of this Earth) and is associated with the Star card of the Tarot. But most importantly, it is a direct link to the Heart Chakra. It is definitely a celestial “stone of transformation.”
Yet, not all stones are for everyone. You will know if Moldavite is for you on instant contact with one or if you are resonating with what you are reading here. Like with anything, follow your intuition and heart. Isn’t it wonderful that, as with all things, there’s a multitude of choices out there for everyone to find what truly resonates with them? But if you find yourself ready for one of these beauties, enjoy!
