Diana, Moon Goddess, Queen of the Fairies, Huntress of the night.
Dianna represents the full moon and the fully empowered woman, intuition and magick. Dianna has become a symbol of the women’s rights movement as she is a goddess who never married, equal in importance to her brother the sun, she rules over her own domain on her own term. She was a huntress and she earned her own keep. She is a protective goddess who protects the weak. She was the goddess of midwives and childbirth and the protector of animals – especially baby animals –
She represents women’s cycles, water, deep intuition, dreams and the astral plane. Whatever is created on the mental plane goes through the astral and eventually manifests on the physical plane. AS such she is a goddess of manifestation and there are many wealth ceremonies based upon the reflection of the moon into which silver coins are cast.
The Classical Greek poets wrote beautiful hymns to her:
“…Sweet voiced Muses, daughters of Zeus, well- skilled in song, tell of the long-winged Moon. From her immortal head a radiance is shown from heaven and embraces earth; and great is the beauty that ariseth from her shining light. The air, unlit before, glows with the light of her golden crown, and her rays beam clear, whensoever bright Diana having bathed her lovely body in the waters of Ocean, and donned her far-gleaming, shining team, drives on her long-maned horses at full speed, at eventime in the mid-month: then her great orbit is full and then her beams shine brightest as she increases. So she is a sure token and a sign to mortal men… Hail, white-armed goddess, bright Diana, mild, bright-tressed queen! “
ORPHIC HYMN TO THE MOON
“…Queen of the stars, all-wise Diana hail!
Deck’d with a graceful robe and shining veil;
Come, blessed Goddess, prudent, starry, bright,
Come moony-lamp with chaste and splendid light,
Shine on these sacred rites with prosperous rays,
And pleas’d accept thy suppliant’s mystic praise.”
From THE ARADIA
“Moon Moon beautiful Moon
Fairer far than any star.
Moon oh Moon if it may be
Bring good fortune unto me.”
Say the above whilst wearing your Diana pendent and throw 3 silver coins into the full moons reflection on a natural body of water to help bring you prosperity.
